Maps of Solar Eclipses from 1820 to 1829

Jakob Wilhelm Heinrich Lehmann published this handsome map of the annular eclipse of September 7, 1820 which crossed Central Europe. What is noteworthy is that Lehmann was only 20 years of age when he composed his eclipse map. He was a correspondent of German astronomers Bessel, Encke, Humboldt and Schumacher and was a well-known astronomer in Germany.

An impact crater on the Moon is named Lehmann in his honor.
