Maps of Solar Eclipses from 1975 to 1979

On February 26, 1979, a total solar eclipse crossed the US states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and North Dakota and the Canadian provinces of Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec before ending at sunset along the west coast of Greenland.

This was the last total solar eclipse in the mainland United States and Canada until the total solar eclipse of 2017. A number of today’s senior eclipse chasers witnessed this eclipse.
