Maps of Solar Eclipses from 2015 to 2019

The total solar eclipse of August 21, 2017 was seen by many millions of Americans and visitors from abroad. 12 million people live within the path of totality and several million more traveled to see totality.

This eclipse came after a gap of 38 years from the last total solar eclipse in the contiguous United States, so the living memory of totality was low. The 2017 eclipse was an inspiring event and probably was the largest mass travel event in the nation’s history.

Less than 7 years later, another total solar eclipse visited North America on April 8, 2024.
